Deleting your comments on other people's Blogs

  1. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. I've written a few unusual strange posts on my friend's blogs and I can't delete them. Can we get an option next to a post saying "Delete Your Post" or "Remove"? and Including Edit. that would be good. These are only for posts taht you post on SOMEONE ELSE'S Blog.

  2. I think the idea is a little dodgy. You can ask your friend to remove your comments on their blog. They are their comments on their blogs. I guess you should reconsider before you post the comment?

  3. Agreed. I think if everyone were able to change their posts, credibility would fly out the window if you could say something one day and then change it the next, with no one being able to prove anything...

  4. "I think the idea is a little dodgy. You can ask your friend to remove your comments on their blog. They are their comments on their blogs. I guess you should reconsider before you post the comment? "

There are certain things that your friends wouldn't want to see... e.g Mistakes or said the wrong thing. This is certainly not a "Dodgy" idea. You need to think about it.

  5. I'm against editing comments for the reasons the two other commentors mentioned.

Instead, write to the owner of the blog explaining to them why and asking them to delete your comment, not "edit it". The blog owner should leave a note where your deleted comment was, like "removed at the request of the commentor".

Having said that, when you comment on someone else's blog, think twice when you write the comment and then think twice again _before_ you hit the send button. It's your credibility on the line.

  6. i agree, it would be a bad idea to allow commenters to edit their posts on other peoples blogs. think before posting, that should be safe enough.
