difficulties commenting on wordpress websites, including mine

  1. i cant post comments on wordpress websites, such as Time, WSJ, AEI, Naked Capitalism, et al, nor on my own wordpress blog, when i use my blogger url in the website blank; however i can still post on all those sites using my wordpress url...

i have posted comments on all those sites using my blogger urls for at least a couple years; but about 2 weeks ago, my attempts to comment all vanished on hitting the "submit" button; my browser view just jumps to the top of the page...

this happens on both Chrome & my customized Internet Explorer 8; i've cleared cache of temp files and cookies to no avail...

The blog I need help with is rjsigmund.wordpress.com.

  2. Those are VIP blogs and they control who and who cannot comment on their sites.

  3. note i also cannot comment on my own wordpress blog using blogger urls as my website...

can someone mark one of my comments as spam (perhaps because of a difference of opinion) and have it affect all my wordpress comments?

  4. WordPress.com blog is linked to your WordPress.com blog so that makes sense.

  5. If anyone marked just one comment as spam it's not likely you would have an ongoing issue. Here's the Akismet support contact link http://akismet.com/contact/

  6. thanks for that (akismet); i suspect something like that might be behind my problem, because i've had disagreements with several articles ive commented on..

  7. that was the problem, and dave at akismet fixed it for me...thanks much for your help...whatever they pay you, it aint enough...

  8. I'm happy to here Dave sorted this for you. Best wishes with your blog.
    P.S. I don't get paid ... I'm a Volunteer.

  9. that's what i meant - i see what you do - they (we) dont pay you enough...

  10. "here" Oh my! Of course I meant to type "hear" how embarrassing. :(

Thanks for the kind words. I do appreciate them.

  11. there are many of us who are volunteers, thief...but most are like myself who labor under the illusion that what we are doing is somehow important, and that those we are working with are also doing something important, and that we will eventually get credit for our ideas and our warnings...

but what you are doing, however, is helping people anonymously who are doing no more than personal blogging, and after they're helped, move on to their own business, & give no credit to you....it may sound weird, but what you're doing reminded me of something i havent read in decades, catcher in the rye, where you're the one out there catching any of the children who stray too close to the cliff before they fall off...

so i am privileged to have been helped by you, & hope that someday i can return the favor...
