Direct domain e-mail to Gmail without Google Apps?

  1. I have set up a domain through wordpress.com, and I was wondering how I could link my Gmail to the domain (i.e., have messages sent to [email redacted] directed to [email redacted]. I understand that one way to do it is through Google Apps, but I feel that, as an individual, I do not need something as big as Google Apps, but rather just a Gmail address. I would appreciate any help in advance.

Another related question: Can I have different @domain.com addresses without using Google Apps?

    With thanks!

  2. Reposting with modification for "email redacted":

  3. No, to have an @ domain.com email address here (to match your domain name) you have to go through google apps for webmasters. What you are actually doing is creating an "alias" that gets sent to your gmail account.

For email and such on a blog, I always recommend using a contact form here that way your email address is not visible on your site which means the spammers will not get ahold of it, and it also sends the contacts through the Akismet spam filter which means you are very unlikely to get spammed using it.

The new contact form here has a lot of new customization features and is much easier to use that the previous version. Give it a look.

  4. Thanks so much, Thesacredpath!
