disable comments in the gallery - carussel

  1. How can I disable comments under pictures if I view them in a gallery (carussel view) ?

The blog I need help with is socksstreet.wordpress.com.

  2. You can only have attachment pages with no comment box if you create the post under a no-comments-allowed default (in Settings > Discussion), then override that setting for the particular post after you publish it (post editor > Discussion module > tick “Allow comments on this post”, or Posts > Edit > Quick Edit > tick “Allow comments”).

Hello Timethief - I'm having the same problem. I've tried following these instructions, but to no avail.
Firstly, I can't see a "no-comments-allowed" default setting in Settings>Discussion. I have disabled comments on all my posts and pages manually, and now I just want to get rid of the comment box within my image gallery (on the gallery page of my site.)
    Thanks in advance!

  4. a) If you enable or disable comments and pings in Settings > Discussion, that's your default. Default means it applies to all future posts and static pages (unless you override it on a particular post or page).
    b) But the passage timethief quoted refers to attachment pages, not to the carousel slideshow. As far as I know, you can't disable commenting on the carousel. If you don't want comments there, you'll have to disable the carousel itself.

Hi - thanks for the quick response!
One of the other threads on the topic was started by this site: http://tnwarder.com/digital-painting-s/#jp-carousel-1009
I can't seem to find the thread on the forum now, but he seems to have managed to disable comments on the carousel (even though there's a very briefly displayed "loading comments" text while each picture loads).
So, I think there must be a way to disable or hide the comments in the carousel... hmm.

  6. My reply referred to standard options. That user has the Custom Design upgrade, and has hidden the carousel comment field via CSS editing.
I'm seeing you have the upgrade too. In that case you need to post this question in the CSS forum.
