Disable Comments on Pages

  1. Is it possible to disable comments on pages? Also, is it possible to make the date of a page non-visible?

Here is a link to my blog.

    Thanks for all the help.

The blog I need help with is quitecultured.wordpress.com.

  2. First off, see this for the difference between pages and posts.

To turn comments off on pages, but not on posts, open each page (about, etc.) in the editor, click the screen options tab at upper right on that page and make sure that the "discussion" module is active, then scroll down below the text area and in the "discussion" module deselect both comments and trackbacks and then save or update the page.

That is strange that a date is showing on pages such as the about page. No other theme here shows dates on pages, so it could have been an oversight by staff. I'll tag this thread to have it moved to the themes forum and hopefully one of the theme team will see it and respond.

  3. Thanks for the assitance!

  4. You are welcome.

  5. Just wanted to let you know that this has been fixed - date references removed from Esquire pages. Thanks for the report!

  6. @jenia, thanks to the theme team for quickly fixing that and thanks to you for letting us know.

  7. When the comments are disabled, it says

"Sorry the comment form is closed at this time."

Anyway to not have this show up? Seems like disabled should mean not viewable.

  8. The only way to remove that phrase is by purchasing the annually renewable custom design upgrade and using CSS editing.
