Disappearing Ratings

  1. When I post a blog, it shows the 'Ratings' stars. However, after a day or two, they seem to disappear. Any ideas as to why, please?

The blog I need help with is dickiehaha.wordpress.com.

  2. Please do not ignore my plea! lol

  3. This simply will not go away, or I shall forever wonder why this happens!
Anybody who does answer this will receive Good Luck for at least five minutes. Honest!

  4. I see thumbs up and thumbs down ratings icons at the end of your posts. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

Will you please post an active link starting with http:// to a post where these thumbs up and thumbs down rating isons are not appearing?

It is the 5 Star Ratings!

  6. I see the stars on that post. I'm using Firefox 11 so it sounds like you have a browser issue. These are the troubleshooting steps we take whenever any issues like this arise:
clearing your browser cache and cookies > http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
using the browser with all extensions or add-ons disabled
updating the browser to the latest stable version (not a buggy BETA browser version) http://browsehappy.com/
confirming third party cookies is enabled http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=61416
    confirming JavaScript is enabled http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654
confirming Flash is updated http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ and if required installing the latest version of Flash http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
resetting your router and modem and rebooting your computer
then logging in using the secure https:// log-in see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
    trying another browser

If those do not work we need to know
    (1) how you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog.

    (2) exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/

  7. Hi! Thanks very much.
Everything seems to be as it should according to your list.
I connect via Cable and I use Google Chrome 18.

  8. Google Chrome 18 has some known issues. I don't know if they figure in here or not. I only know I can see the star ratings using Firefox 11 and using IE8.

  9. Thanks very much indeed. I really appreciate your taking the time and trouble to help us.
