Distorted template in Enterprise theme

  1. Hello.

    I own a paid wordpress.com blog at http://priyankanandy.com/

For two weeks now, the sidebar on the landing page, which should appear at the *side*, keeps being pushed to the bottom of the page. There is a smiley at the top instead of the sidebar, indicating the sidebar is fine, but displaced.

The template works fine when a single post or a page is opened, but goes awary again when a tag or category is clicked on.

I have NOT selected full-page options for any of my posts or pages, in case that would be people's suggestion. The sidebar, with my widgets, is supposed to show no matter where one is on my site.

    Thanks in advance,

    Priyanka

The blog I need help with is priyankanandy.com.

  2. Let me also add that I don't post images that spread beyond the borders of the central block, which might have caused the sidebar to dislocate.

  3. Yes, you paid for a domain name and domain mapping and that's what you have. The issue you have on the blog have nothing to do with that upgrade at all.

Sidebars and widgets in them do not fall to the bottom and display below posts and/or posts do not appear in sidebars unless

    (1) content has been imported into the blog

    (2) the blogger has been copying and pasting content from elsewhere, without using either icon 5 in Row 2 of the visual editor http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

    (3) or the blogger has copied and pasted invalid HTML into a text widget or left an HTML tag open

After you go here and enable this > Settings > Writing
    Formatting
_ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically
    "save changes"

See here for sorting this out > http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

  4. Hey timethief :-)

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. None of the solutions suggested here worked. I don't use the visual editor, I don't copy-paste, and I just "saved changes" to 'automatically close XHTML tags' to no effect.

Incidentally, why would you think I think the upgrade had anything to do with the formatting errors? I don't believe I indicated any such thing.

  5. The problem is in your two most recent posts--they are too wide for your theme. My guess is your twitter embeds are too wide. Can you go into the post and change the settings so they display with a shorter width?

  6. Solved now. Open tag in Creative Commons widget. Thanks.
