Do you write because you have to or because you want to?

1. writing is a tool, that i find if not used, oiled it will rust. i never learnt to read and write til i was in my early twenties, had alot of anger management issues which have dissipated over time because i use writing. I don't know who said it but the pen being mightier than the sword.

2. i write because i have too. it's like therapy or a drug. just when i think i'm done it start again. i'm not an original writer. i'm blunt. i don't use many metaphors i just write what i'm thinking and what i feel. it's a necessity to get these things out of my head.

3. Both, I write stuff for severa blogs because I want to.
I also write because my paid full-time job does require business writing. Not just emails. It's not always bad because it still keeps writing skills sharp. Plus one is still writing for an audience, even in a narrow way.

I write because I want to and because I have to. I love writing; I love the way that words look and I love that when you string them all together they really mean something. But I also get so many ideas in my heads and just these really random pressing thoughts that I need to get them OUT, otherwise there are too many things distracting me from my all-important senior project...
And don't worry so much about your punctuation when you're writing just to write. I write sometimes with abandon and leave out all proper punctuation because it feels RIGHT.

5. its like cutting your self, your like agggggghhhhhhhh im so mad. then a little cut, you feel relief. but better cause word press you can delete, scars are a lot harder to delete

6. Yeh, blogging is defiantly cathartic but it also means that you take the time to sit down and think about the things you've seen, done, experienced in a different way than just letting it pass you by...

That said, it also feels like an increasingly important part of work, jobs and business.

You're just lucky if you love it AND you have to... and the very lucky get paid! (eh... raincoaster!)

Would love to know what you think of mine - I'm relatively new or wordpress!

Thanks a million,

7. I don't think you ever truly have to write. I write purely as a creative outlet, but if I can get paid, why not? I've decided to leave as many doors open to myself as possible by doing a good job in school, so I'm pretty sure I'll never have to write.

I love doing it, that's for sure. And a lot of people say I'm good at it, so. :D

8. I write because I love to. I was born like that:)
