I have done everything Typekit/Wordpress has told me to do, but no cool Typekit fonts. I know this is relatively new, but has anyone had any luck with this?
What's the CSS code your supposed to use?

Here's a great walk through article on how to use Type Kit with your WP.com blog. http://getook.wordpress.com/2010/01/04/typekit-guide-change-your-fonts/
Found new things I hadn't done before, but it's still not working. Am I just a HUGE idiot? Don't answer that.
Sorry to hear your still having issues with this matter but unfortunately that is the only reliable tutorial I could find. = (
I have a feeling it's some small coding thing on my end. I have done everything I'm supposed to do. I put in all the selectors I wanted for the Typekit font. Still nothing. I really don't get it. Once I get started on something I can't stop, so this has been incredibly frustrating. Thanks for your help.
Did you click publish on Type kit after you put your sector values in ?
Yeah, I'm not getting it, either. Sometimes WP is a bit counter-intuitive, but once you actually figure something out...never have a problem again.
Guess we'll see how THIS one goes...Ken

We must ask for the URL for the blog you refer to every time you post to the forum, unless you link your wordpress.com username to your blog. It's very easy to do the latter. See > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/10/06/wordpresscom-profile-link-your-username-to-blog/
Did you check out the article T3ck linked to above? http://getook.wordpress.com/2010/01/04/typekit-guide-change-your-fonts/
Typekit is browser specific.. So if you are using browsers like Chrome, IE7 or FF 3.6.. you might not be able to see your fonts being displayed.

This might help.
I tried applying some of the fonts..Now when I go to my blog, there is a prominent Powered by Typekit at the bottom right..
But I dont see no fonts!
Strange compatibility issues.
As the original poster, I can now say that TypeKit DOES work, and I myself was able to find out HOW to make it work. (pretty easy actually!)
This is from the Typekit website:
So here’s the situation: Every major browser now supports the ability to link to a font. That means you can write a bit of CSS, include a URL to a font file, and have your page display with the typography you expect. For designers and developers, this is a significant step forward. No longer will you need to trap your content in images or Flash just to express yourself visually. Pages will be more usable, accessible, and indexable. This is a massive upgrade for the web.
I use IE 7.0 at work and my Typekit fonts appear just fine. (same for Chrome & Safari at home) The <i>only</i> browser I have found that does <i>not</i> support font embedding (yet) is Mobile Safari (iPhones).
Hope this helps.

Sorry for the <i> tags... didn't realize they wouldn't work... :)
@imaprile: for italics use the em tag, not the i tag.

OOPs! The code disappeared.

How did you get it to work? Do you have tweek anything in CSS? I have the same problem as yours (my browsers are FF 3.6 and IE 7).
While I do have the CSS Upgrade, and I did put the 'advanced options' codes in my CSS, I'm pretty sure it worked before editing this.
My biggest issue was identifying the correct selectors that I wanted to edit the font, i.e: blog title, post title, widget titles, etc. I used Firefox's "Firebug" to help me identify the areas I wanted to edit (a very neat add-on I might add!) Here are some of the names of the selectors I wanted to change: (NOTE: They might be named differently for you)
(#nav; .page_item; h2.widgettitle; h1.pagetitle; h2.pagetitle; h1; h2; .post-header; #header #title a; #title; .widgettitle)
1. Pick font name you want in Typekit
2. Click +Add
3. Your 'Kit Editor' will lauch (leave in a open window for now)
4. Click on 'Embed Code' at the top
5. Copy the ID code (letters & numbers)
6. Paste it in the Appearance --> Typekit Fonts ---> "Kit ID" tab
7. Click 'Update ID'
8. Once you know what selectors you want to change, enter them in the Kit Editor in the 'Selectors' tab, Click add for each one.
9. After you've added all the selectors you wish to have the font changed, click 'PUBLISH'
10. Refresh your blog page and they should appear
Keep in mind, the Typekit FREE trial is only for 1 font. If you want more, you'll have to upgrade to the $24.99 for 5 fonts. (what I did)
Here is the Typekit support page for WordPress users: http://typekit.com/help/wordpress
Good luck!

Is that $24.95 a one time payment or does it require annual renewal?
It's (unfortunately) yearly.
@imaprile
I've done all the steps above but I still don't see the font on my blog. There is a Typekit logo at the bottom of my blog AND what previously were the default font of my theme have changed (from Times New Roman to Arial, for example).
I also read the tutorial at http://getook.wordpress.com/2010/01/04/typekit-guide-change-your-fonts/ and have tried several selectors but will continue to try others to see if that might work. Thank you for your response!
@tt, the trial scheme gives you two fonts, not one. It limits you to one website. Here's the pricing page:

$25.00 per year every year to have browser specific fonts that won't necessarily display the same way to all my readers - no freaking way! I don't spend my time admiring the front of my blog. I'm busy in the backend blogging for my readers.
@tt,
TypeKit DOES display in all browsers. I have not yet found one browser that doesn't render my selected font correctly. I for one, am very happy to have "my" chosen fonts - I think some of the more artsy folk will agree. It's a huge step in the design world, that's for sure!
:)
I'm [still] with ballistic84 & teammissou; I suppose at some point this will make sense, but on Safari all I see is the 'Powered by' logo, nothing in the Selector. It's fine they get their plug...ideally it will work soon.
@mindonmediasales
This is from the TypeKit Font Pricing Page:
What browsers are supported?
All widely distributed browsers support the CSS @font-face technology required for advanced web typography. This includes Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
@mindonmediasales
When you added your chosen font and the Kit Editor launched, did you add the CSS selectors you wanted your chosen font to replace in the provided "add" tab? This is where I was stumped at first. You'll have to tell TypeKit exactly what areas of your blog you wish to have TypeKit fonts. If done correctly, it WILL work.
Are you using the IE Web Developer or Firefox's 'Firebug' add-ons to help you in identifying the "selectors"? This was my savior. Play around with these tools for a bit, and add the correct selector names in the required tab in the Kit Editor, and it WILL work. FYI: there will already be one selector in this tab. It's your font name. Leave this alone.
Don't forget to copy & paste the "Kit ID" in your dashboard and clike UPDATE ID. (in your appearance tab, typekit fonts.
Also, click save on the bottom left side of the selector area, then don't forget to hit PUBLISH in your Kit Editor once you've added the CSS selectors.
Let me know if I can help further.
Hey @imaprile,
Well, if YOU say it works [after having what looks like the same/nearly same issues], then yes, I missed a step somewhere. Not 'Publish', though, so it is somewhere else. While I had to get a new Post out this morning...hopefully I'll catch it prior to the next one. Many thanks...!
No problem. Good luck!
@mindonmediasales
I got it to work by using the FF Web Developer add-on. Once I had the correct selectors in, my fonts show up!
@imaprile
Thanks for your pointer! I had put a bunch of different selectors in there, thinking one of those should work, but I guess Typekit is picky :P
