Does the stat counter also count visits by spammers?

It depends on how the spam was submitted. If it was a direct form post, then no - it's not part of the hits. If it was through a load in "browser, wait, populate form, submit" thing, then it does count. But, it's probably more of the direct form posting, so the hits are mostly real visitors.

Andy has said that WordPress essentially eliminates robots from its stat count.
