domain administration option doesn't exist?

  1. I'd like to use the custom domain registered at wordpress.com on hosting which I am paying for myself elsewhere.

The "Domain Management" section of support (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/) seems to refer to a feature that isn't available any more as I can't seem to find a way to change nameservers.

The blog I need help with is ohnovideogames.com.

  2. Hi. You can do a WHOIS lookup for the domain name to confirm if it was indeed registered through WordPress.com.

If you don't know how to do that: what's the domain name in question please?

  3. I have the same problem and my domain not working aawsat-video.com !!! any help plz?

  4. @aawsat: That domain name does not appear to be registered at all. Either you misspelled it here or it did not register properly.

  5. when i opened domain page, it show me that it's active ad it's Part of a WordPress Value Bundle subscription,
is there another step to register it ?

  6. The answer to your question is in the support document:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/
Please read it carefully, as it explains that if you buy a domain registration upgrade as part of a bundle, you still need to take action.

  7. Can you tell me with more details please .. what's this actions ???

  12. u so funny, ardpete :) thanks u

Sorry again guys.. This link wasn't useful at all as my domain already registered, but it's not active .. let me know please if I have to register it in go daddy or somewhere else ?!

  13. On WordPress.com, you can use a domain that you already own, such as example.com, instead of your blog’s default address, like example.wordpress.com. This is called Domain Mapping. Your old WordPress.com address will still work, but we will automatically redirect traffic from your old address to your new one. Did you purchase the domain name from WordPress.com or not?
If the answer is no then see here > domain mapping > mapping an existing domain

  14. Thanks .. and I already read this more than times :
guys any details about this :

Instructions for Mapping an Existing Domain

Update your domain’s name servers to the following. Make sure to remove any existing name servers that are already there.

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

How to add it and should I make it manually >?!

  15. auxclass .. should I register the name somewhere else like that site in the link ?
come on guys I'm not that professional programmer!!

  16. @aawsat
You cannot map to a domain that has not been registered. I'm with auxclass - I give up

  17. it's registered in wordpress.. and here is the line under My Subscriptions :

(Domains already registered on this blog: aawsat-video.com )
Can you tell me plz what does this mean >>?

  18. You did purchase domain mapping for aawsat-video.com, but the domain itself does not exist: http://whois.domaintools.com/aawsat-video.com

I have canceled and refunded your domain mapping subscription, and you'll need to actually register the domain name following the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/
