   Someone else already has the domain name I want. However, they haven't updated their blog since 2009. Can you contact them and ask them if they want to deactivate their blog name so that I can use it?

   I would like to have the domain name: thirdworldparadise.com

   My other question is they currently have the name thirdworldparadise.wordpress.com

   So if I paid for the upgrade to buy the domain, even if they wouldn't delete their name, would that be allowed?

   You can purchase and map thirdworldparadise.com to any blog you own at WordPress.COM - the base blog name does not matter -

   You can try leaving a comment on the site you want and if they respond maybe they would transfer it to you - but WordPress.COM will not contact the blog in question on your behalf or give you any contact info for the blog.
