domain problem

    Hi,
    I used to have an website at http://www.rawfoodphoto.com
    Now I'd like my wordpress blog to be shown at this address, I did map the domain but still my old website is showing rather than the wordpress blog.
    I'm not too sure what I am doing wrong with this mapping, would you please advice me.

    Hi - it appears to be working now. If I go to http://www.rawfoodphoto.com I'm taken to the same site as going to http://rawfoodphoto.wordpress.com/

    The domain mapping appears correct, or let me know if you are trying to accomplish something else?

    oh, it's working now. I did the mapping yesterday and it didn't work, when I check again today from my mobile it worked, but when got home again in the evening it didn't work so I wanst to sure after all what's going on, but yes its working now, maybe there was some temporary isuess, anyway

    I am getting the following message :

    The page isn't redirecting properly

    Hi there - as mkaz said, your mapping upgrade looks correctly set up and your domain is active. Going to http://rawfoodphoto.com brings me to your WordPress site.

    Could you please make sure the Firefox is set to accept third-party cookies?

    Do you only have this problem in Firefox, or is it happening in other browsers too?

    Hi and thanks for your replay kathrynwp,
    I've tried both firefox and Explorer, I wonder if it is to do with the cookies on my computer? On the mobile it seems to be ok, but on my computer now I can see my old website, same on my old ipod even though I cleaned cookies. I just installed Safari and the old website comes up. I tried my mobile again and the old webpage comes up

    Seems like everyone here can see the wp page, so I feel a bit like there's something wrong with me, not the domain but I hope you'll be able to find the trick.

    Hi there - thanks for the information, and sorry you're still having trouble.

    Could you please try clearing the cache on all your devices?

    If that doesn't work, it could be that your ISP hasn't completely updated its DNS records, so they're still pulling in your old domain's old DNS record, prior to the WordPress.com mapping you did on your domain. If this is the culprit, you may need to wait up to 72 hours, as that's how long it can sometimes take for an ISP to update its records fully.

    Or, it might be your devices that need to have their own DNS cache flushed. The instructions for doing that differ depending on your operating system. For your computer, culd you please let me know what OS you're running (Visa, Windows 7, etc.) and I'll let you know how to do it? Thanks!

    ok, I did not understand the first part at all except for "wait 72hrs" so I will, no problem,
    I did clear cookies and caches on the little Ipod and it did not help.
    On the computer I have Windows 7.

    I am happy to wait until tomorrow evening or even Saturday (I am trying to avoid the scary instructions, admire you for knowing all of it)

    and if waiting won't help we can try to do the DNS things. If only I may ask, would you try in a mean time to go couple of times today/tomorrow to see if you can see it any different?

    For the first part, it just means that if the problem is at your ISP's end, there's nothing much you can do except wait it out. :-)

    If you'd like to try clearing your DNS cache, you'll find the instructions here, under the second heading, "Windows Vista / Windows 7 Flush DNS"

    It was easy to do, got a confirmation that the job was done successfully, but didn't help, I still see my old web ... and don't like it any more. I have a feeling, as you said that I've got to wait it out.

    Thank you very much for your time and advice. I hope it will get sorted soon, if I am still in trouble by the end of the weekend, I will post here again, ok?
