Domain renewal problem

    I had upgraded my domain so that it read as TheJustinDavis.com instead of http://justindavisportfolio.wordpress.com/, but I unfortunately didn't renew the domain. I just checked and received no emails from WordPress alerting me about the need for renewal either. I'd like to renew my site as quickly as possible, so it's back to TheJustinDavis.com, but when I try to purchase the domain in the store an error comes up that reads "Someone (maybe you?) already registered TheJustinDavis.com, but the domain is not pointing to WordPress.com."

    I'd appreciate whatever can be done to fix this situation.

    The blog I need help with is justindavisportfolio.wordpress.com.

    Unfortunately, this domain expired back on December 14, and it looks like we sent 3 emails prior to this.

    Fortunately, the domain is pending delete, which means that it's one its way back to the open market and not currently owned by someone else.

    You should be able to re-purchase it this month, perhaps even this week. However, we have no control over this process, so I can't give any exact dates.

    Unless the emails went directly to my spam folder in Gmail, I have no record of the emails coming in.

    It's possible that they may have gone to spam. I recommend whitelisting @wordpress.com to prevent this from happening in the future.

    Please help. Mine has expired as well, how do I renew it please?

    The same way you got it originally: via your dashboard Store. It may or may not be available, though. Someone else could have grabbed it or the registrar may be sitting on it.

    Thanks for that. I renewed it and made it the main name. It is not being found when I type it though? Any ideas?

    Since you're re-mapping it, it can take anywhere from several hours to a couple of days for the DNS to settle down and work smoothly. Just wait it out; as long as the purchase went through okay, you've got no problems.

    How do you have no control over the process of when a domain is pending delete? There's no manual way to full delete a domain so it's available again for the open market?
