Domain transfer and map

  1. Hello,

I'm very new to getting my site hosted and uploading files to wordpress so I'm lacking basic knowledge on how to run a website overall.

I have a few questions regarding my domain. First, I attempted to transfer my domain from weebly to godaddy, which is ethamavong.com, to host and map my domain on wordpress. When I published a post to test it out, it states on the site "If you are the owner of the site, you can fix this message by publishing your site to this address." I have already closed my account with weebly. How do I go around this?

    Thank you,

    Emily Thamavong

  2. Your name servers are not yet pointed to us.

Per the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ they need to be set to:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
  3. I got the same response, but can't seem to change my nameservers..
Where to place these ? :
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
    Thanx for help

  4. Thank you!

  5. @carplu - the name servers need to be changed where your domain name is registered - you probably also need a zone record added for your name if your domain name is caroleplumel.fr

I have flagged this for staff attention

  6. ethamavong, you're welcome!

carplu, what is the domain name that you're trying to map?

  7. I think i already added the zone record. But cannot find where my domain name is registered in order to change the nameservers.
Macmanx : my domain name is caroleplumel.fr

  8. would it be easier if i just used a .com ?

  9. carplu, your registrar is whomever you paid to register the domain with.

Apparently, caroleplumel.fr has never been registered. You'll need to either register it first with a registrar that provides .fr domains, or register a .com, .org, .net, or .me domain with us.
