I've read the tutorials but they seem outdated.
I purchased my domain through WordPress.com and would like to turn it into a privately hosted site. I originally just wanted to repoint the A name record for the root domain. From my understanding, I can't do that and will have to transfer the domain but I can't find out how to do that either. We're past our 60 day period too.
Help?

You can change the name servers to your new host if you want - the instructions below should help - should not need to touch the A name record - you will need to double check with your new host to get the proper name server info
