Downloading mp3s

  1. Hi there,

Basically I'm putting a song up for free download (with copyright etc etc). I know that all I have to do is post the link, people right-click and do 'save link as' and they can get it, but is there anyway I can make it so that they can just click the link and it starts downloading without right-clicking? It's not that big a deal but it'd just be handy to know if there's a url modification I can make or something.

Cheers in advance for any help,
    Hamish

The blog I need help with is curiousjoe.org.

  2. I see you are linking to bandcamp in your sidebar. They have a shortcode embed that works on WordPress.com. Try putting it in a text widget.

  3. OK-obviously I needed that second cup of coffee first! :) I'll go have it while listening to your tunes-nice!

Hope someone else will find this info useful.

  4. Ah I'm not talking about Bandcamp (that widget's just a wee side thing). I mean I've uploaded a song using the space upgrade, so I'm actually hosting mp3s on WordPress and want people to download directly from my site, which they can do I was just wondering if there's a way to do it without right clicking.

Hope you enjoy the songs though!

  5. Did!

Hm, not that I'm aware of, but there's a resourceful crew in here. Maybe someone else can suggest something.
