I'm also curious about Duet. Did the owner of this site: http://blog.danielleweddings.com/ do that with the Custom CSS upgrade or is that possible in Duet without the custom CSS upgrade?
The blog I need help with is piperalin.wordpress.com.

When I tried to load that blog my browser crashed. Don't click the link.
Not sure how/why that happened, I've viewed it in Chrome & Safari on my iPad... and it's one of the examples of blogs currently using Duet here on WordPress.com...
Basically... the body is a yellow-sh color, then there's a border around that and then the background. I'm going to take a screenshot & upload it someplace.
Here is the Duet theme description

I use the Duet theme too. That owner definitely used CSS to make the border.
@noirciplume
Thank you so much for chiming in. I'm not seeing a border I'm seeing a background image. http://danielleklebanow.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/9933237_m_resized_maroon2.jpg
But she definitely used CSS for the footer widgets. Duet doesn't provide that.
@TT
You're very welcome :)
