I am interested in establishing an e-commerce website, my own domain, using WordPress; not a blog. Where can I get information on the e-commerce capabilities,; coupons/bulk pricing? Do I need to navigate the different links to understand website pricing or am I not looking at the correct WordPress page?

  3. This is not really a wordpress.com issue.

You should be looking and web hosting providers. Once you find one, you could use software from the .org side of wordpress.

  4. 'and' s/b 'at'

  5. Make friends over at WordPress.ORG - you will be using their software

To my knowledge a HOST does not provide e-commerce capabilities, the website builder does. I already have a host. I am looking to understand wordpress website builder e-commerce capabilities.

  7. I am looking to understand wordpress website builder e-commerce capabilities.

What makes you think there is such a thing?

  8. To my knowledge a HOST does not provide e-commerce capabilities

Not necessarily true if you have cPanel or some kind of content manager available.

But none of that is discussed on this board which is for free-hosted wordpress, com sites.

  9. WordPress.com free hosted blogs cannot be equipped for ecommerce transactions via shopping carts. You can only use a contact form for the sale of items your yourself create and/or services your yourself provide http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/ and/or a PayPal donation button on a free hosted WordPress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

If you do require an ecommerce site, online store, shopping cart, advertising and/or affiliate links you can hire a web host and get a free software install from http://wordpress.org Refer to > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If however your are in the elite category of bloggers who can afford VIP hosting see here > http://vip.wordpress.com/our-services/
