Edit header code in blog

    I have created a music review site, basic and small. It is under construction, but plan to get it running ASAP. My aim is to review music, and have an affiliate link to iTunes to earn a commission on every click-through. I signed up to http://www.tradedoubler.com and they require me to verify my site by:

    Copy a meta tag and paste it under the <HEAD> tag of the code of your sites homepage.
    Or to
    Create an empty file and simply name it: THE-CODE-GIVEN.html. Then save this file in the root of your webserver e.g. http://ralphiesmusicreviews.wordpress.com/THE-CODE-GIVEN.html&gt;. You will need to access your hosting via your FTP or web browser to do this.

    I have no idea how to do any of these, and have no intention of paying just to edit the CSS just to verify my site.

    The blog I need help with is ralphiesmusicreviews.wordpress.com.

    We do not have access to the underlying theme files, and just for reference you should read through the following.

    User advertising is, except for a couple very narrow exceptions, not allowed on wordpress.COM. For the exceptions, see the last sentence under "Affiliate marketing blogs" in the bottom set of bullet points in the "types of blogs" link below.

    Also, the custom design upgrade does not allow you to add or modify the head section.

    You would probably be better off self-hosting a wordpress installation on a third-party hosting service such as godaddy, bluehost, etc., using the software from wordpress.ORG. Figure an average overall cost of around $10 to $25 per month, everything considered.
