    Resource (3) forum search box http://wordpress.com/forums/search.php?q=change+code+in+theme
    Resource (4) To be used when you can't find the answer in the other 3 resources is this support forum.

    The answer is "no". The resources above all provide the answer and the reason for it.

    You do have two options.
    (1) css customization http://wordpress.com/blog/2006/08/17/try-custom-css/

    (2) Or to gain complete control over your theme template you can self host your own blog or go to web hosting. Here is a comparison between the two options. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/07/wordpresscom-vs-wordpressorg/
    And if you decide to go with wordpress.org then here's a link for hosting information http://wordpress.org/hosting

  3. ok so if i go for css customization then can i edit for free.. if yes then can u tell me the procedure

  4. If you go to css customization you can TRY it out for free so you can see what it looks like but your readers cannot see it.

    Then if you like what you see you can pay for an upgrade to bring it into effect for your readers too.

    To try it out
    -> dashboard - > presentation -> edit css

    If you wish to upgrade

    -> dashboard -> upgrade -> purchase ($15.00 US funds for 1 year) -> confirm purchase

    read this thread http://wordpress.com/products/custom-css/

    and this pink sticky at the top of the css forum
