I was trying to update a media gallery (Not delete pictures, just add new ones) but I couldn't seem to figure out how to take images in my media library that I've already uploaded and put them into this pre-existing gallery. (I couldn't find it in the FAQ section or any other posts, but I might have missed it, so pardon if this has been previously answered.)

The fastest (and in my opinion the easiest) way to add pictures to an existing Gallery is to upload those photos again to the post or page where you want them to appear.
You could also use "includes" which is explained here, http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#gallery-shortcode but it will take much longer to set up than my suggestion above.
