editing the information from the footer

  1. I would like to edit the footer message that says " blog at wordpress.com" I just want to keep what theme I am using but not the rest of the information. how can I do that?

    The blog I need help with is ujyalofounation.wordpress.com.

  2. You can't; your blog will be suspended if you remove or hide that.

  3. Also notice that your URL ( http://ujyalofounation.wordpress.com/ ) contains the same information—that you are hosted here on WordPress.com (for free). There is no shame in that! Wp.com is a well respected website / blog host!

    details from TOS https://en.wordpress.com/tos/:

    11. Attribution. Automattic reserves the right to display attribution links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com,’ theme author, and font attribution in your blog footer or toolbar. Footer credits and the WordPress.com toolbar may not be altered or removed regardless of upgrades purchased.

  4. Hi there, you cannot edit the existing footer or change the wording, but you can certainly add to it with your own text (a copyright for example).

    The first step is to add the footer area back in by removing this from your existing CSS. If you wish to hide footer widget area, you can use the following to do that.

    .footer .container_24 .grid_6 {
        display: none;
    }

    To add to the existing footer, you can use the following to add text before the existing footer.

    .footer-bottom .copyrightinfo:before {
        content: "This is my copyright";
        display: block;
    }

    If you wished to add text after the existing footer credits, change before to after.

    You can also style the footer credits to work better with your site design if you wish. For more information on that, see the following: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions (look under "May I remove the Admin Bar, credit links such as ‘Blog at WordPress.com’, theme, font, or toolbar links?")
