editing theme.... other theme sites

  1. Hi,
I am new here and am trying to figure out if there is a way to edit the text & fonts of the Albeo theme ? Is there a way to do it without having to buy the upgrade ? I wouldn't mind paying the upgrade if it was just once, but yearly doesn't seem right.
Also, are there any other "official" WordPress theme sites for free ? Thanks for any help.

The blog I need help with is lunapaws.wordpress.com.

  2. one other question, if i buy a premium theme, can i edit the font & text color ?? thanks.

  3. These are 3 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.
    (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

    (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

    (3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Note: In the majority of themes font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, menu, post titles, page titles, categories and tags, widget headings, comments and links cannot be done without purchasing an annually renewable custom design upgrade and doing the required CSS editing. A few themes do provide for changing font color in the Blog Title and/or optional Tagline and/or links. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/color-customisable-themes/

  4. To make those changes on Albeo, you'd need the Custom Design upgrade. You can't use themes from anywhere but WordPress.com on a WP.com blog. If you buy a premium theme, I believe you only get that theme as is.

If you really want to tinker with themes, what you want is a WordPress.ORG blog instead.

  5. thanks for the replies ! I will check out .org but i'm not so sure i'm ready for that yet, i'm still learning about blogging in general.
