Editor will not allow me to add a www. website link to Contact page

    I am confused, I am trying to add a contact page, and when I try to add the website link http://www.cvillesmokeshop.com, address, it adds it but then if I go to the blog page and click on it, to check it, it keeps wanting to treat it like a WP blog link that says NOT FOUND.

    How do I add a hyper link to this static website?

    The blog I need help with is cvillecigarshop.wordpress.com.

    Your site is not hosted on WordPress.COM and you are posting to the wrong support forum. This forum is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM.

    Are you using the contact form with the Jetpack plugin? If so, Jetpack is supported separately at http://jetpack.me/ .

    Oops! do you mean the WordPress.com blog?
    If so then this is the general link model:

    This is the general link model:
<a href="URL HERE">Highlighted anchor text here</a>

    To make an anchor text link like this one cvillesmokeshop.com you type this anchor text - cvillesmokeshop.com first and then you highlight it with your mous, click the chain (link) icon in your editor and enter the URL and the floatinhome title and click insert.

    Hi Everyone, and thanks for the comments, my blog for this shop is on WordPress.com, I just wanted to put in a link to their main (hosted website) like you would when posting any post with a link to a hosted website, however when I try to put the link in, it will not accept it. I will try doing it in Live Writer, I seem to have better luck with it in the past for including links, than with the WP editor (not a slam to WP) at all, love WP and using it.

    However since I started the contact page using the WP editor it would be nice to put the link in on the Contact page using it.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated

    Hey sorry I just read all of Timethiefs reply and this makes sense now, forgot about using the chain link. Thanks so much you have solved the problem both of you.

    I did just what you told me to do, and it worked like a charm, until I checked the link on the website by clicking on it, this is where it takes me.

    what does it look like I am doing wrong?

    That's because you've got two http:// 's in it. When the box comes up, it has an http in it already. If you don't strip that out first, it messes up your link when you paste in a link that already has a http. So edit the link, strip EVERYTHING out of the box, and paste in http://www.cvillesmokeshop.com

    I tell you I must be dumber than a box of rocks, now it takes me to the blog, when you click on the link. man time for me to hang this up for the night!

    First it takes me no where, now it takes me to the blog, not their hosted website.

    Thanks for all you help people it is not you, it is me! I will work on this tomorrow morning.
