   Hello,

   When I comment on another user's post, my email address is sent to them with the comment notification (as other user's email addresses are sent to me in the notification when they comment on my post).

   I understand this helps prevent spam etc, but shouldn't there be some warning that my personal email address will be sent? If I had know this, I would have initially used a different email address in my WordPress settings. I can't really find any info about this (seems to be a privacy issue), or am I missing something here?

   You can replace your email address with a free throwaway one very easily. Many of us use throwaway email addresses for blog related stuff. That way we keep our personal email addresses for use of close friends and family only.

   You have two separate email address settings at WordPress.com. Have you entered two different email addresses at these locations (see below) or have you entered the same one at both locations?

   Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard. Try changing this one first.

   Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

   Thank you for your reply. I figured the only thing to do was use a different address. Just seems there should be some kind of notice or warning that this happens. I know some people aren't even aware their email address is being sent when they comment, and so they don't even know that they should use a different address in WP to retain their privacy.
