Email address issue

  1. When signing up for a new WordPress blog account it is saying the email address we want associated with the acct/blog is already in use but we know it is not in use by anyone but the owner of the site. (I am the administrator of the site and we are in the process of moving our website to WordPress) Perhaps in the past we signed up but never really used the WordPress acct?
How can I have the duplicate (old) email address removed as it is the owner's business site and email and I DO know for a FACT no one else is using it. Can you send a verification to the owner or how can we go about this? Thank you so much for any assistance.

The blog I need help with is malloryediting.wordpress.com.

  2. You have two separate email address settings at WordPress.com.

Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.

Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.

  3. Thank you very much for your very quick response but that unfortunately isn't the problem.
The problem is we can't attach our customized email address to the WordPress blog (which is to be a business site) because it keeps giving us that infamous "that email address is already taken" message.
We may have years ago created a WordPress blog with the same email address but have never used the blog, and it has been so long ago we can't delete it because no one knows any of the log-in information.
