    Hello,
I recently moved my wordpress.com site to a self hosted site. I want to keep my email subscribers and wordpress followers. Can you guys help me with this please?

my old site was technically wordsofmelody.wordpress.com and my new site is at MelodyAustin.com

    Thank you,

    Melody

The blog I need help with is melodyaustin.com.

  2. I'm happy to transfer the folks who have subscribed to your blog either by email or via the WordPress.com Reader.

In order for me to do that, you need to have the Jetpack plugin installed, activated and connected to WordPress.com on your new site. Please reply back once it's done and I'll transfer your followers for you.

    Thank you Jenia,

I have installed, activated, and (I think) connected my accounts.

Once my followers are transferred is it safe to delete my old account? Or do I need to keep it active.

    Thanks,

    Melody

  4. Hi Melody, I've transferred your email subscribers and WordPress.com followers as requested.

You may want to set your old site to private until you've confirmed that your subscribers and followers are all seeing your posts as expected, just to be safe. You can do that under Settings > Reading. Keep in mind that once a site is deleted, it can't be undone.

Just let us know if you need anything else - good luck with your new site!

    Thank you so much!

I do have one last question.

Can I transfer my old traffic stats?

    Thanks Again,

    Melody

  6. Hi there - we are only able to merge stats if your sites are identical - did you use the export/import tool to move your WordPress.com content into your self-hosted site?

Yes, I believe my setup company did you the export import tool.

  8. I've gone ahead and merged the stats from the old site into the new one.
