Embed Blog in HTML Page?

  1. Hi guys,

I'm completely new to blogs, so this may seem a stupid question:
Can I actually embed my blog into an existing external homepage?
I'd rather have my blog entries embedded in my homepage than at the external address .wordpress.com. Is there any way to do that?

Any help is greatly appreciated :)
    Thx in advance.

  2. If you can find a program to put into HTML that pulls the RSS feed from your wordpress blog, it would pull the latest 10 or so entries and display them on your static page. I know they exist, but I couldn't tell you where to start looking other than search google as I don't think it has been brought up in these forums before.

  3. I am not 100% sure, but I think doing that violates the TOS, specifically the part about using your wordpress.com blog to drive traffic to an off-Wordpress site. Staff would have to clarify that. If that is really what you want to do, you should probably download a free copy of WordPress software from WordPress.org and host it where your site is hosted. Then you would have no such restrictions and could make it a direct part of your site easily and even make it look almost identical.

  4. I have this same problem. I'm trying to setup an organization's blog at my college, using the college-provided webspace. Unfortunately, no PHP or SQL support there, so the WordPress software is out. I'd like to be able to embed the blog without using an iframe.. but it seems like it might be coming to that :\

  5. Depends on what you're using for your website located elsewhere. We can't give you an answer unless you give us more information about what you;re using on the other side.

  6. not exactly the same scenario as what I am doing but I have a related question... if I have a link from my log to another site of mine is it possible to put a search box and button on the other site which actually executes a search of my blog for the text specified in the box? (Working the same way as the search box on my blog) Perhaps this is theme dependent but some of you may have done something like this before...
