Embedding non-youtube videos

  1. Hi there,

I am trying to embed videos from other sources than youtube, but so far without success. (For example: http://tv.sebrae.com.br/static/white/swf/newplayer.swf?idContent=1049&playAuto=false&base_url=http://tv.sebrae.com.br/)
Is there any way I can do this or are they all blocked?

    Thanks,
    Evandro

The blog I need help with is epdnews.wordpress.com.

  2. Most are blocked unless you use the Gigya shortcode. You can find instructions on that at http://wpbtips.wordpress.com

  3. Thanks, raincoaster. I used the gigya code, but the video just keeps loading. Any ideas?

  4. Please paste the code here (between backticks) so we can check it.

  5. I'm having major issues with this embeding thing!! It sucks because all videos are not on youtube!!!

  6. WordPress.com doesn't limit you to just YouTube. You can also embed videos hosted on Vimeo, Flickr, DailyMotion, Viddler, Blip.tv, TED Talks, and Videolog.

Please note this. If the video service is not listed, you can give Vodpod a try, as it allows you to embed videos from thousands of different sites and services.

  8. Here's the code:
    '[gigya src="http://tv.sebrae.com.br/static/white/swf/newplayer.swf?idContent=1049&playAuto=false&base_url=http://tv.sebrae.com.br/" width="640" height="340" quality="high" wmode="transparent" allowFullScreen="true" ]'

It just keeps loading and never shows.

  9. Yes, because the shortcode isn't correct. Correct version:
    [gigya src="http://tv.sebrae.com.br/static/white/swf/newplayer.swf" flashvars="idContent=1049&playAuto=false&base_url=http://tv.sebrae.com.br/" width="640" height="340" quality="high" wmode="transparent" allowFullScreen="true" ]

    Dimensions can be changed.
