Please empty my blog Caroline Sylger Jones of all of its content but keep the blog name - I may want to use the name at a later stage, but right now I have all this material on my Hut on a hill blog. Thank you.

If you don't have a lot of content you don't need to wait for Staff to do this. You can delete the content and retain the URL and start fresh.
bulk delete images & media http://en.support.wordpress.com/media/deleting-files/#bulk-deletion
bulk delete posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/#bulk-edit
bulk delete pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/#bulk-edit

If you do have a lot of content then you can type modlook into the tags in the sidebar of this thread and wait for Staff to delete it for you. Note: You must also post to this thread and acknowledge the fact the deletion of the content by Staff is irreversible and you do want them to do this.

Is this possible?
i already have that for hut on a hill - is there any other way that the URLs can forward to a www site?

To forward the blogs to a different domain, you need to purchase a Site Redirect upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
