End of lines are cut off

  1. I was just told that when my daughter reads my blog, the ends of the line are cutting off.

Here's what she said: "i can't read all the words on your blog... maybe it's MY screen and not your page but the words cut off (the end of sentences and stuff, on the right)"

I checked and it looks fine to me. I have a widescreen laptop so I wonder if it's possible that it is being set up to fit my page and doesn't adapt to other monitors...?

Anyway, as far as I can see, I don't have any control over this.

    Any ideas?

  2. Might help us help you if you told us what your daughter was using please. Browser, browser version, OS, and screen resolution.

Looks fine to me in IE 6.0.2900.2180 at 1280 x 1024.

  3. Thanks, DrMike! ; )

I'm emailing her to ask...but I don't know what "OS" is. I know how to help her find the rest if she doesn't know how.

Glad to know it looks fine to you. My mother read it the other day and she didn't have any problem and she's using a dinosaur 'puter. ; )

I'll get back to you as quickly as she responds to me.

  4. Operating System. ie: WindowsXP, Mac OSX, Fedora 6, something like that.

  5. Oh, yeah! I remember...OS stands for Operating System! Duh! Thanks...still waiting for her response.

  6. Well, Mike...here's her answer:
    Windows 2000
IE 6.0.2800.1106 (with a couple of updates)
    1024 x 768

She says she'll have a new computer soon and it'll probably all be fine. When I learned that you could see it fine, I knew at least that it wasn't a problem that just started today or anything like that.

Thanks for any help you can offer...if none, I won't worry about it, though.

Btw, why does the clock on these posts say it's night time?

  7. The forums display UTC time.

Not sure why it's occuring for her. The screen resolutions isn't that small. Strnage...

  8. Well, thanks for your offer of help and how quickly you've responded. I've never written in with a question before and I'm impressed...even if we couldn't resolve her problem.

Have a great rest of the day!

  9. Can she see it if she scrolls back and forth, or does she not have that option?
