English auto text on non-English theme (choco)

  1. Hi
I am using Choco theme for my blog since it supports right-to-left languages (Hebrew). However, the post template consists of an automatic English text in its footer: "leave a comment". I would really like to have ONE language across the blog.
    Can anything be done?
    Thanks

The blog I need help with is cafebezol.com.

  2. I'm not sure if the actual text can be made to show in Hebrew, but you can change the wording for the comment prompt by going to your Dashboard, scroll down to Settings, click on Discussion then scroll down to the bottom and type what you want in the Comment Form Prompt area. It could be that you could paste some Hebrew into that, or maybe just modify what's there. It does seem a bit pointless having all content in Hebrew except that!

It might be possible to change it via CSS (but you'd need to have the CSS upgrate) but I can't advise you on that. Another volunteer may be able to help you further.

  3. I have flagged this so it will be moved to the Translations Forum where Staff can addres this issue. Please be patient while waiting for a Staff response.

  4. absurdoldbird - the prompt text is changable. I'm talking about a text above that, in the footer itself.
    timethief - thanks! I am patient :)

  5. maybe this will help you locating the string:

    10x

  6. @cafebezol: could you please suggest translations for these two strings:
    http://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/he/default?filters%5Boriginal_id%5D=34469
    http://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/he/default?filters%5Boriginal_id%5D=44311

WordPress.com is translated primarily by volunteers (just like you!) That explains why some parts of the interface are translated while others are not – it is an ongoing process.

Once you submit a translation, please note that it may take a few days before you see the change in the interface, because translations need to be checked and approved by validators before they go live.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions!

  7. @jenia: Why is the string not in the search results for theme choco?

  8. cool. I translated them and it was saved correctly. I would be glad to suggest as many translations as needed. thanks!

  9. Actually, upon a closer look, the string that shows up in English in Choco is currently not in the GlotPress translation project. I will follow up so that it becomes available for translation. Sorry about the confusion!

@cafebezol: WordPress.com is translated by volunteers, and you can suggest as many translations as you wish! Let me know if you are interested in validating. You can find out more about our translation process here.
