Error Saving Media Attachment

  1. Hi there,

I'm unable to upload images to the media library. I'm getting an error message "error saving media attachment". I know the image type and size are not the issue because I've tried several of them and nothing is working and I've been using the same file types and similar sizes over the past 5 months and it has always worked.

Could someone please tell me what the issue might be and how I can go about fixing it so that I can resume uploading.

    Thank you!
    Nissrine

The blog I need help with is harmonyalacarte.com.

  2. Are you creating your post here https://wordpress.com/post/ ?
If so then try creating it at > Dashboard > Posts > Add New
http://harmonyalacarte.com/wp-admin/post-new.php instead and see if you have the same issue.

  3. Hi Timethief, thanks for the response.

I am creating it in the dashboard as I always do. But it's not the post that's the problem, it's the media library. I can't upload to it. I'm going to Dashboard > Media > Add New > Browse > Upload...as I always have. It has always worked but now it's giving the error message.

  4. Okay then. What is the exact file type?

  5. jpg and way under 1GB as usual

  6. Thanks. Note that I previously tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  7. Thanks so much timethief! Much appreciated.

  8. You're welcome. I'm seeing other threads like this one and I'm currently searching for them all and tagging them for Staff with "image upload issues".

  10. Hi Nissrine,

Can you please let us know what browser (including the version number) you're using? If you're not sure, you can check here: http://supportdetails.com/

We've had some reports of issues using Internet Explorer version 9. If you're using that browser, please take a look at this forum thread for more details:

If you're using a different browser, please start by making sure you're using the latest version of the browser: http://browsehappy.com/

You can also go through the troubleshooting steps timethief mentioned, which will help rule out other issues that might be interfering with the upload process. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

  11. Hi. I am at my wits end and would be so very, very appreciative if someone could please help me.

I am unable to upload video. I am late releasing a class because I have been trying to troubleshoot this since last night. This is not great for business. :)

I am copying and pasting the above so that I can answer as fully as possible any questions I might need to answer.

    1. I am running Chrome 36.0.1985.143

    2. Not running IE. I don't even bother opening IE.

    3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/

    Checked - all good.

    (c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.

    Done.

    It is up to date.
    5. Try using another browser.

    Tried Firefox - same result.

    6. If you are not successful let us know:
    (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.

Windows 8.1 laptop. Using a DSL Modem with Netgear router.

    See above.

    (c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state.

I have a screen shot if you need it, but right now after about 15-20 minutes I'm receiving a "HTTP Error" in red.

  12. Jordan is working on this as of about 8 hours ago today, 8/26. However, I just uploaded a 10 minute video and it worked.

So then I tried to upload one of the longer vids and it just got hung up and after about 10 minutes an error appeared saying I lost connection.

My Internet connection is not hiccupping at all. We have a really strong, stable connection so I'm not sure what is happening.

I have no way of updating Jordan on this though.
