   I am moving my wife's WordPress.com blog to a self-hosted Worpress.org blog. I've exported the XML file, and when I upload per the instructions I get a 500 Internal Server Error. I've called my hosting provider who says there is no reason on their end why this should be happening. Out of curiosity I tried opening the file but it is giving me an error regarding something called "atom." How can I fix this problem so I can finish uploading the XML?

   The blog I need help with is clueintocleveland.wordpress.com.

   Opening the export file in anything other than a plain text editor corrupts the file. However, we can't help you here with the import. This is the correct forum for you http://wordpress.ORG/support/ If you have not registered a WordPress.org username account yet you can do so on the top right hand corner of the page I just linked to so you can post to those support forums.
