I made my blog private to begin with, but now I want to post the short link to my FB page and it comes up as a private password protected site. Does anyone know how to fix this? Very frustrating. I've checked the blog is marked visible, the posts are published, public is selected. What the heck!

There is no way to password protect a site at WordPress.com. Only posts can be password protected.
http://theyearofseriousgardening.wordpress.com/ is set to Private. You need to change that setting on Settings->Reading.
I think that's fixed it! Thanks so much for taking time out to tell me.
