Excluding specific image(s) from a gallery/slideshow

  1. Hope you can help - this forum is generally bloomin' amazing so I'm sure someone will be able to!

What I want: a few photos on a page, then at the bottom of the page, a small gallery of OTHER photos, NOT including those further up the page.
I've read how to exclude specific image(s) from a gallery/slideshow here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

So I understand it in theory and it looks simple. Basically I just need to write [gallery exclude="imageattachmentID"] but I don't understand how to find the 'image attachment ID', and it seems pretty key! This is how it is described in the support article:

    * Note: To get an attachment ID for an image, go to your Media Library and click on the image title you want to exclude. You can find the ID in the URL (the number after attachment_id=).

But I can't find this 'attachment ID' anywhere!

    Can someone please help?!

The blog I need help with is ecomagroup.wordpress.com.

  2. You go to your media library and hover over the title or thumbnail of an image (or hover over "Edit" or "Delete Permanently").
Down on the bottom of your screen, in the status bar you will see a link with attachment_id= near the end.

  3. So the WordPress shortcode [slideshow], it appears I cannot exclude images with: [slideshow exclude="998,1001']

I wish this could be the the case... not just for [gallery] short code.

  4. I can hardly wait for media to get the overhaul they've been talking about since around December 2008 (if I'm not mistaken).
