   I love WP.com but I would appreciate it is periods or full stops were enabled in the usernames. For example, I culd have e.than for my username which I prefer over 3than immensly.

   Hmmm couldn't you just change your nickname in the user settings? e.than would not make a good default username due to sub domains. e.than.wordpress.com would add a whole world of trouble to the wordpress system. (probably)

   If you just want to post as e.than you could change your nickname. Why do you want this feature?
