Export followers from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

  1. Hello,

    I've recently transferred from wp.com to wp.org.
    I've lost all my subscribers.

I've just installed Jetpack to my self-hosted WP site (www.unjourunpied.com) but don't know how to import the followers I had on wordpress.com, please can you help me ?

The blog I need help with is unjourunpied.com.

  2. Hi there,
Staff can do this for you. I tagged this thread for their assistance. Staffwill do the transfer of both subscribers and stats for you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/moving-your-subscribers/#wordpress-com-to-self-hosted-site

  3. A related question if I may: I'll be moving to .org shortly as well, but my domain name will remain the same. So does that mean that all my posts will still appear to those who subscribe/follow via the reader even though the site will no longer be on wordpress.com?

  4. @unjourunpied - I can transfer your subscribers to your new self-hosted site for you.

However, I see that you linked your self-hosted site to a different WordPress.com account. Can you please reply here from that account to confirm that you want your subscribers moved there? Thanks!

@piran1 - Even if your domain name stays the same, your existing subscribers will not automatically be moved to your new self-hosted site (so they won't automatically see your blog posts in the Reader or receive updates when you post there). Staff can move your subscribers to the new self-hosted site for you, though, and then your WordPress.com subscribers will continue to see your posts in the Reader.

Once your self-hosted site is up and ready, you can start a new forum thread to ask us to move your subscribers over. You can also check out the guide that timethief linked to here: Moving Your Subscribers

  5. Thanks for explanation, Rachel. Will do. :)

  6. Hi Rachel,

I'm now logged-in through new credentials.
I confirm I'd love your help to move my old subscribers base to my new self-hosted blog. Thanks again

  7. Thanks for confirming. :) I transferred your subscribers to your new blog at http://www.unjourunpied.com, as requested.

Your email subscribers will continue to receive email updates, and your WordPress.com followers will continue to see your new posts in the Reader. If your WordPress.com followers would like to receive email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on your new blog.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that.

  8. Hello rachelmcr,
I have the same problem a month ago.

    He commented:

Since migrating from wordpres.com to wordpres.org perfect, but the likes, subscribers were not imported.
Nor does were imported, the links that had my blog wordpress.com.

I would like to know what was my mistake?

PD: When you associate my account my wordpres.org jetpack, one jetpack account that I did with a different account to my wordpress.com account.

    Ie I

    1. midominio.wordpres.com, + jecpack 1
    2. migration
    3. newdominio.wordpress.com a new account for wordprss.com associate to jecpack 1

  9. Hi malverten,

Your subscribers are not automatically transferred when you move from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress.org site. However, we're happy to do that for you. We have a full guide for how that works here: Moving Your Subscribers

Can you please start a new forum thread with your request? That will help us keep track of your request separately from the original request in this thread. Thanks!
