Export posts to word?!

  1. Hi,
my blog is typical for those who follows the posts on their computer. But there are also a lot OFFLINERS. So I'm looking for a possibility to export the posts to any text-format. The selection should be by date (not by author as the exportfucntion). This people will get then post mail!! (Yes there are still people not reading news on their computer!!)

Who has an idea to solve this problem? Now I use the copy-and-paste-methode but I'm not happy with this solution

    thx Eckhard

The blog I need help with is hefa.wordpress.de.

If you cut and paste things into Word, it will screw up the format. It's best to save to Notepad where it will not be broken. Or cut and paste from Word, place it in Notepad, and then cut and paste from Notepad into your blog editor. Is that what you mean?

  3. @hefaek: Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). We usually need that to give a relevant answer.

  4. I think he's trying ask us how he can export his posts on his blog into a text format. He wants to be able to select which posts by date, at which I think he wants to mail them via USPS judging how he said, "Yes there are still people not reading news on their computer!!" Right now, he's copy and pasting them into a word processing program on his computer, and probably printing them out that way, but he wants a way to expedite that process instead of doing it manually.

  5. The export here will have all the comments, post, pages, tags, categories, and any draft posts or pages in it. It isn't just the posts, and to edit that file down to just the posts is a considerable job unless you are very familiar with HTML/XHTML and have the time, especially if you have a lot of posts. Also, Word doesn't come close to speaking "web" no matter what Microsoft claims, so there will be some major formatting issues to deal with once it would be pasted into Word.

I'm afraid copy and paste is the only real solution, and my suggestion is to paste from the visual editor directly into notepad or another plain text editor as a first step. That will strip out all code. Then you can if you wish paste it into Word, add the titles and such, and format it as you wish.
