exporting a theme

  1. I have created a web site in Blogum which is being hosted by 123-reg. I have succeesfully exported the content via WordPress tools and imported onto 123. This displays in a standardl WordPress theme but not in the layout created.

However, in importing the Blogum theme it appears to displace the web pages I have imported from WordPress giving a blogum front page without access to the web site (although the content can be found by using the search engine on the blog page).

Is there a particular procedure anyone can suggest for saving and exporting the theme to a host site please?

    I am a novice!!

The blog I need help with is nvirohaus.wordpress.com.

  2. I’m sorry to report that you have accidentally posted to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here at WordPress.com with that site as it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com and we run on different software. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/

  3. Thanks. I did set our from WordPress.org and it appeared to lead me through their support area to here. I will try again!

  4. actually, I am becoming incrreasingly confused. I set the site up on wordpress.com - nvirohaus.wordpress.com. I have a domain name at 123-reg which is nvirohaus.co.uk.

Just need help, by whatever means, to get my site up and running under that domain.

    Cheers

Hi nvirohaus. I'm a bit confused about what you need. Do you want your site on WordPress.com or a self-hosted website? If you would like to use http://nvirohaus.wordpress.com/ as your website then that's hosted on WordPress.com. If you would like to use a different website that's hosted somewhere else, then you'd need to get help in the WP.org forums. Keep in mind that hosting (where your content/files are stored) and domain registration (where your domain name is registered) are two totally different things. It's conceivable that you have a domain registered with 123-reg but a site hosted with us, in which case you'd need a domain mapping upgrade. Hope that helps.
