I tried to link my facebook account with my wordpress blog.. but there's an error that says, (Could not retrieve id for the specified page. Please verify correct href was passed in.) can anybody help me with that? Do I need to set up a FB 'page' as opposed to a FB 'personal account'? Or is there a way to link WP to a FB personal account?

Yes, that's exactly what that error message in the Facebook Like Box Widget means. It only works with pages, not personal profiles or groups.
