Facebook Badge

  1. Does anyone know where I can get a facebook badge? I want to add it to my sidebar. I think I understand the code but not sure where I can get a Facebook badge from. I want the badge to show my actual profile pic I have on FB as well as my status. Thanks in advance!

  2. Oh, just figured it out. As a FYI, if you scroll down to the bottom of your FB profile there is a link that says create badge. So happy I figured this out. It's been bugging me like crazy!!

  3. Thanks tzuzan, I did not know this function, not noticeable at all. Cheers, Janet

  4. yes but once you have it, how do you add it in a widget on the side? I keep cutting and pasting in the url, but all that shows up is the text "Becca's Facebook Profile", hyperlinked to facebook, but not the badge with the picture and everything. http://pastorbecca.wordpress.com

  5. What is the code? Paste it here between backticks, those little marks on the same key as the ~

  6. They are most likely to be in Javascript or CSS/Object embed codes. WordPress won't accept them therefore it will only show anything that's in regular HTML.

    Preview in Javascript:
    <script src="http://badge.facebook.com/badge/<some random number>.js"></script><noscript><a href="http://www.facebook.com/people/<your username and profile number>"><your username>'s Facebook profile</a></noscript>

    Preview without Javascript:
    <a href="http://www.facebook.com/people/<your username and profile number>" title="<your username>'s Facebook profile" target=_TOP><img src="http://badge.facebook.com/badge/<some random number>.png" border=0 alt="Josh Jenkins's Facebook profile"></a>

If you're using the HTML version, the image is probably broken or there's a problem in your WordPress theme.
