Facebook URL?????

  1. I have a message at the bottom of my blog saying "It looks like your Facebook URL is incorrectly configured. Please check it in your widget settings." I don't know how to fix this. I don't know how to find my FB URL. I copied what was in the adddress bar but that didn't seem to fix the problem. I am just wanting to add a LIKE button to my blog. I am a TOTAL NEWBIE.

  2. The Facebook Like Box widget is only for Facebook Fan Pages. It's not for profile pages. You need to enter the correct URL starting with http:// for a fan page there.

  3. THANKS will try that!

  4. You're welcome. For Facebook integration see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/

  5. Gracious clearly I do not know what I am doing. I don't even know what a fan page is. So there you have it. I think I must abandon this project! STILL---when my page says I need to correctly configure my FB URL it bothers me---as if there's something I've left undone. What I think you're saying is this: if I do not have a Fan Page, then I don't need to worry about that error message.

I am too new to have a fan page I imagine lol!

  6. You most likely have a Profile page and if that's the case then the Facebook like box widget cannot be used for it.

  7. Thanks I appreciate your tutorial assistance!

  8. You're welcome and best wishes for happy blogging. :)

  9. Well you can promote your profile in the text widget. Do you want to do this?

  10. That sounds like an idea!

You can also add a Facebook profile badge or a Facebook page badge to your blog if you’d like. We have a full guide for doing so. http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-integration/facebook-badge/
