Facebook Widget Not Appearing On Home Page

  1. Hi! I have the facebook widget installed on the left bar of my website, but it doesn't appear on the front page unless I'm logged in. It DOES appear on all the other pages. Why is that?

The blog I need help with is hhhchildrens.wordpress.com.

  2. I do not use the widget you refer to so I apologize in advance if this does help you.. Inside some widgets you will find visibility settings that you can use to direct which pages in the blog widgets are displayed on. Click each the widget to open it and set the visibility setting. Then click "save" and "close".

  3. Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I can't find anything in the visibility section that's restricting it. I have realized since posting that NONE of our social media widgets are showing up -- facebook, twitter and goodreads are all enabled, but only appear after I sign in. Could there be a blanket reason for that?

    Thanks!

  5. I see it when logged out just fine: http://d.pr/i/qRIh/5XUYnmcQ

First, please make sure that your browser is up to date by visiting http://whatbrowser.org/

If it is not, please try updating your browser or switching to a different browser.

If it is, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Please let us know how each step goes for you, and which browser (and version of) you're using if you're still having trouble.

  6. Hi! Thanks for the reply. I think I figured out what the problem actually is, though not why it's happening or how to fix it. I have two sidebars enabled and with widgets in them. When I am logged in, I can see both sidebars on the homepage in their proper places. When I am not logged in, only the right sidebar appears on the homepage, but on the left side of the screen; the "actual" left sidebar doesn't appear, and there is nothing on the right side of the screen. All of our other pages are correct regardless of whether I'm signed in or not (The reason the facebook widget popped up for you was because I moved it over to the right sidebar in case this issue takes a while to resolve, and we're planning on spreading the word about our new website starting on Monday). I would chalk it up to a setting of the theme if it weren't for the fact that it appears correctly when I'm signed in.

    Thanks!!

  7. This is happening because you deleted the sample "Hello World" post so the blog front has no main content and its normal layout collapses. You should either publish a post, or create an intro page and set the blog front to display that intro page (in Settings > Reading).
