Featured Image Difficulties on Structure Theme

    I am slowly putting together a portfolio website for myself, http://joelnihlean.wordpress.com/, and I am having a lot of trouble setting featured images for each of the pages (Home, Contact, Resume, Portfolio). I cannot get a featured image to even show up on one of the pages, much less separate images for each of them. I have read and followed the instructions on http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/ and http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/05/01/introduction-to-structure/ to no avail.

    I've gone to edit pages, set a featured image, clicked the featured image check box on 'show on screen' etc but I get nothing. Can someone give me a clue here?

    Can someone enlighten me?

    Okay, I've figured out how to add the featured image to a page that has a post on it, but the featured image also appears at the top of said post, can that be removed? Also, can a featured image be added to a static page? i.e. my home page without having a post on that page?

    Can anyone hear me?

    Please study http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/05/01/introduction-to-structure/ more carefully: it explains all you need to know. Sorry, featured images in Structure do what my post says they do, not what the misleading Support doc on featured images says.

    Joel,
    I'm having the same problem as you. I can get a featured image to show up for the post, but what about that HUGE blank space in the middle of the home page??? That's what I'm trying to set and this is infuriating!
