I am using the splendio theme and my featured stories section is not appearing. Anytime I make a post sticky it will not appear on my home page as a featured story and it does not appear in the most recent post column. Does anyone know what may be wrong? I checked http://thinkaboutsuch.wordpress.com/ and I can see the featured posts section appearing right now. Were you able to get this figured out?

I just swtiched my theme to Suburbia and am having the same problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you positive that you are compressing and pre-sizing images offline to the exact dimensions required by your theme, prior to uploading them as featured images? If you aren't then that will be the cause of your problem. What's critical in the case of featured images is their dimensions. There are specific dimension for featured images in each theme and if you do not pre-size the images to the correct dimensions prior to uploading them there will be issues.
With Suburbia, you can enlarge and feature your most important posts by marking them as Sticky posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

The custom header image is 155 by 155 (width, height).
The featured image works best with images at least 350 by 248 (width, height).

Once I published a new post and chose two other posts to be sticky, the featured post began working. I am not sure if it was the new post or the selection of multiple posts that made it begin working but I would give those a two things a try.

I've now made three posts "sticky" but while they do show up on the first page... I want the "Featured Posts" bar that appears in the Splendio Theme example. How the heck do I make that happen? armstronggenetics3.wordpress.com
