Featured posts on home page

  1. I have just changed my theme to 2014. How do I select featured posts for display on the home page?
    khristijeevan.wordpress.com

The blog I need help with is khristijeevan.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there - It looks like you figured this out! Awesome! :)

  3. Yes, I did it! But thanks anyway.

  4. Hi there! How did you do it?
    Thanks!

  5. First, the posts you want to feature have to be given a common tag like "Featured" or "Important" or any word you choose. Then on the Dashboard, select Appearance - Customize. You will now see a side bar on the right. On the side bar select Featured Content. Enter the tag name which you have given to your posts. Save.

Now, the posts will be featured on your home page. To show them with images, you will have to upload an image on each one of them and set it as a featured image. Then the images will also appear on the home page.

    It's actually simple!

  6. actually, there is nothing like that on the side bar. I tried. I´m stuck.
the blog is travelerie.wordpress.com - I don´t get the main page to show more than 1 last post either.

I´ll be soooo thankfull for any help!

  7. (Oh and "aside" posts loose all formating, what did I mess up?)

  8. Hi @Travelerie - The theme you're using, The Morning After, displays your most recent post on the home page, as well as additional featured posts, which are any post marked as "sticky": Post Visibility

Most of our themes display all your posts on the front page, so you might see if there's another theme that you like just as well that doesn't have the magazine-style front page: http://themes.wordpress.com/

  9. Hi, sorry for the inconvenience - I just figured it out, I couldn´t find the "sticky" option box before and wondered why it doesn´t work when I checked "aside". So thanks for the snapshot! :)
It works great now, I just hoped I could displey more than just one last post (for example 3-5 last posts), but now I found the sticky option, it doesn´t matter:).
Thank you for your quick response!

(I knew I´m gonna figure it out the moment I decide to post the question here:))

  10. Wonderful! :) No problem at all and let us know if you need anything else.
