Feed not showing 2 most recent posts.

  1. My feed is not showing all published posts in the specified range. The newest 2 posts which are live on the site are not in the feed.

The blog I need help with is kentuckypestnews.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi there,

Are you referring to how your posts appear on the front page of your site or how they're appearing in RSS readers like the WordPress.com Reader? It looks like they may be appearing correctly now:

    Reader: https://cloudup.com/cMiam-dGt7T Site: https://cloudup.com/cUaB2CScOhd

Can you let me know if you're still having trouble?

  3. The rss feed now has the most recent posts like the home page. There was an over 12 hour period where the home page had 2 articles that the rss feed was not showing. The problem corrected itself after I repeatedly re-posted the posts.

What is the delay between a post going live and the rss feed updating? Will this happen again? Why does it take 2 days to respond to support requests?

  4. Hi!

We respond to support requests in the order that they are received. We try to respond as soon as possible! I apologize for the delay.

With regards to the RSS feed update, occasionally, it can take a bit of time to update with the latest posts (usually not more than a few hours). During this time, you do not need to re-publish the post. The Reader will update on it's own. In fact, re-publishing the post may delay the appearance of the post in the Reader if you're removing the old post and publishing a new one. Your best bet is to publish a post and allow the Reader to pick it up naturally.

If you're experiencing a long duration before the post appears in the Reader (12 hours or more) without re-publishing the post, please let me know!

  5. What is a exactly "few hours"? An hour is a ridiculously long amount of time to update a RSS feed.

Our problem is that the RSS feed is used to generate a a scheduled email newsletter. Everything is posted at least 12 hours before the newsletter is sent.

  6. The Reader should update within 2-3 hours of your new post at the most. I just did a test and the Reader was updated immediately (within a few seconds).

Your posts are immediately included in your feed. For example, when you publish something to your blog, it will immediately appear at kentuckypestnews.wordpress.com/feed. However, it may take 2-3 hours for the new post to appear in your Reader (although not normally). Does that make sense?

  7. I understand your explanation but that is not what happened. The /feed should immediately have what is posted on the blog. That is not what happened last week. If this happens again how can I get a support response ASAP?

  8. Hey Brian,

You can just reply back here. I can't promise that I will be able to answer immediately, but I will try to answer as soon as possible.
