Few questions on autofocus theme

  1. Hello,
    Ii am trying to make some modification on my new autofocus blog (www.nicolasdufeu.com). And i need some help !!!

    1/ Is it possible to move the pages menu under the articles? i currently move it on the left position.

    2/Is it possible to put pages names 'in line' like: contact, print, links, etc...?
    and not like:
    Contact
    Print
    Links

    3/How is it possible to delete the "browse menu" to newer and older article after each articles?

    4/How is it possible to make the slideshow 800px (full size in the slideshow window), the size is currently 730, but when i put 800 it's only moving the slideshow on the right.

    Many thanks for your time !!!
    (P.S. And sorry for the crappy English)

    The blog I need help with is nicolasdufeu.com.

  2. My current CSS:

    .entry-title {
    font-size:35px;
    word-wrap:break-word;
    }

    #access,div.menu {
    margin:0 0 24px;
    width:800px;
    }

    #entry-content {
    float:left;
    width:800px;
    }

    .slideshow-window {
    background-color:#fff;
    margin-bottom:80px;
    }

    .slideshow-slide {
    width:800px!important;
    }

    .slideshow-controls {
    bottom:-40px;
    opacity:.2;
    }

    .entry-date {
    display:block;
    font-size:0;
    letter-spacing:px;
    line-height:0;

  3. Add

    .menu ul li a {
        float: left;
        margin: auto 15px auto 15px;
    }

    #nav-below {
        display: none;
    }

    To adjust the navigation links to be inline. You'll have to mess around with settings though most likely and check for consistencies within browsers.

    The above code should also hide the browse more section that you mentioned.

  4. IT WORKS !

    I try i to move the menu under the article but i am not sure of this code sustainability:

    #access,div.menu {
    top:-500px;
    }

    Also i you have an idea to fix my 730 slideshow windows to a 800px it will be great so don't hesitate !

    Many thanks Jarretcade

  5. Hey there, glad to hear my suggestion worked for you!

    I can't guarantee that the code you posted would sustain either considering the amount of devices a site can be accessed from nowadays.

    I did try messing around with the width for a little bit but couldn't find a quick solution without putting more time into it. Maybe somebody else will come across this post and have a solution for you.

  6. 1/ Is it possible to move the pages menu under the articles? i currently move it on the left position.

    @jarretcade is right that if you hard code a pixel value to move the menu, it may not look the same for small devices like mobile phones. I don't think there's a reliable way to move the menu below the articles because of that.

  7. 3/How is it possible to delete the "browse menu" to newer and older article after each articles?

    #nav-below {
        display: none;
    }
  8. 4/How is it possible to make the slideshow 800px (full size in the slideshow window), the size is currently 730, but when i put 800 it's only moving the slideshow on the right.

    I checked http://nicolasdufeu.com/2012/04/09/welcome-on-my-new-website/ and the slideshow image is currently 800px. It looks like changing the limit width setting in the Appearance → Custom Design → CSS &rarr CSS Settings is what did the trick.
